ALTK-DSEAK

ALTK enables surgeons to treat corneal pathologies using strictly extra-ocular techniques, avoiding the potential hazards and complications of penetrating keratoplasty. The ease with which ALTK can be mastered by surgeons experienced in refractive correction techniques opens a wide range of possible indications.

Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty

Opacities of the cornea (anterior stromal and epithelial irregularity) :

  • Band keratopathy
  • Groenouw
  • Aphakic or pseudophakic bulbous keratopathy
  • Reis-Buckler Dystrophy
  • Salzmann nodular degeneration
  • Cicatrial
  • Sequelae to keratitis caused by prior dystrophy
  • Secondary to post-PRK haze

Endokeratoplasty

ELK is a new and exciting procedure that the ALTK makes available as another option to full penetrating keratoplasty.

  • Replace only the diseased endothelium
  • Reduce post-op graft rejection
  • Reduce post-op astigmatism
  • Aphakic or pseudophakic bulbous keratopathy

Descemets' Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty

DSAEK treats Fuchs' and other endothelial dystrophies (i.e. posterior polymorphous dystrophy), post-cataract surgery edema (aphakic or pseudophakic bullous keratopathy) and some of failed PK.

Corneal augmentation

ALTK offers the refractive surgeon a safe and simple way to add corneal inlays to those patients with thin corneas.

Treatment of LASIK complications

i.e. replacement of lost caps or melted flaps.
