The Leading Fluid Gel in Europe |
- Carbomers are hydrophilic macromolecules able to hold more than 1000 times their volume in water. Due to their structure, they strongly bind to the glycoproteins of the tear film mucin-like layer resulting in an increased contact time with the cornea. The water is then progressively released to provide a steady hydration of the cornea.
- The addition on polyvinyl alcohol, PVA, results in reduced viscosity without altering the wetting and bioadhesive properties of carbomers. It is also provides SICCAFLUID® with lubricant properties ensuring patients a greater degree of comfort.
